Welp, here's mah application for moderator.
S E C T I O N I:
Introduction
Hello, moderators, administrator, and owner. My username is horcrux2007, to get things started.
There are many reasons on why I would like to become a moderator on NeutrinoCraft. I would like to serve justice to the wrongdoers of NeutrinoCraft such as griefing, immaturity, hacking, and other misbehaviors, and I love helping people and giving them all I have to give. I would always drop what I am doing to help that person, no matter what I am doing. If you do choose me as a moderator, I would be as helpful as I can, and I would never let you down. I think I would make a great addition to the staff!
I have a great understanding of the commands that moderators use. They will be in Section II below.
I will promise that I will be trustworthy, doing whatever someone asks me to do for the good of everyone, calm, and mature. I can get mad at some points, who doesn't? But, I get mad because of the wrong doing of others. Immaturity is not something I get a laugh out of. It just isn't funny. I will promise that I will always help whenever it is needed and wherever.
You may be wondering, "Does horcrux even have any experience as a moderator? How do we know that he's not just copying the layout?" Well, the answer is yes. I am a moderator Legend of ZeldaCraft, a former moderator on the now defunt WindCraft and the defunct Zelda Sanctum. I am also an administrator on HyruleCraft, and I own Mushroom Kindgom Craft. I'm also applying for mod on ZeldaCraft. I do have experience as a moderator, so this isn't my first time!
S E C T I O N II:
Commands
I have a great knowledge of the commands moderators use. I will always use them responsibly, and not to harm any users.
SUB-SECTION I:
CoreProtect
CoreProtect is a plug-in that mainly is used for undoing griefs. It is a great plug-in that "rollsback" griefs and tells you who griefed! This helps bring justice to the person who was griefed, and it helps in getting rid of the vast problem of griefing which I hope to bring to a minimum.
/co inspect
This toggles the Inspector Mode. Left clicking a block shows the block data of the selected block. Right clicking a block shows the block data of the adjacent block.
This can be used to show who placed and/or destroyed a block. It is used to show who griefed a house or building.
EXAMPLE: /co inpect
/co rollback
This rollsback the block data within the specified radius and according to when it was griefed and who griefed it.
This rollsback all the blocks that have been griefed. It really helps people in that they do not have to attempt to rebuild their house or building. It is also important not to rollback a large radius because it could destroy someone else's building or house making you a griefer.
EXAMPLE: /co rollback u:horcrux2007 t:3h r:10
SUB-SECTION II:
General Commands
These are general commands that have many different uses. From flying to doing some snooping, these commands have it all!
/fly
This toggles fly mode.
You can start flying with this command. It helps to get somewhere speedy or just to get away from the craziness, it is a favorite of mine, and I use it quite often.
EXAMPLE: /fly
/socialspy
Toggles SocialSpy. This allows you to see what people are saying using /msg or /t.
This is mostly used to snoop around a bit to see if anyone knows any information. It can also be used to just be nosey!
EXAMPLE: /socialspy
/tp
This teleports you to a player instantly.
This is used to get to a person quickly, and you don't need permission to teleport to the desired player. It can also be used to see a person's grief.
EXAMPLE: /tp stormtrooper16
/tphere
This teleports a player to you.
This is used when you need to see someone quickly. It also doesn't need permission like /tp.
EXAMPLE: /tphere linktheodore9
/tpdisable
This toggles whether or not other moderators can teleport to you. It can be used when you don't want to be killed without you knowing and lets other moderators know that you don't want to be teleported to.
EXAMPLE: /tpdisable
/realname
This shows the username of a player according to the nickname.
This can be used when you want to message someone, send mail, and see who is arguing.
EXAMPLE: /realname SamwiseGamgee
/whois
This shows a lot of information of someone according to username. It shows whether or not the person is muted, jailed, banned, flying and shows the IP address of the user.
This can be used to ban an IP address from the server if a person's account has been hacked.
EXAMPLE: /whois nalawesomeness5
SUB-SECTION III:
Consequence Commands
/kick
This disconnects someone from the server.
Kicking someone is mostly just used as a warning to someone because they can come back right after.
EXAMPLE: /kick pokemario64
/ban
This permanently bans a person from the server.
I personally do not think that permanently banning someone is a good thing, but it should only be used in very extreme cases.
EXAMPLE: /ban dioror2124
/banip
This permanently bans an IP address from the server.
This is used mainly if an account is hacked. It should be used after using /whois.
EXAMPLE: /banip 1234.5.43.5234.51.25.12345
/tempban
This temporarily bans a person from the server according to how long.
This is used a lot more than /ban or /banip. It is used according to how bad the situation is.
EXAMPLE: /tempban bugalet 3h
/pardon
This pardons someone from a ban.
This should only be used if you are absolutely sure that you trust this person enough to pardon the person.
EXAMPLE: /pardon PrincessZeldia
/jail
This places a person in jail.
This seems like a softer way of temporarily banning someone. It is usually shorter than a temporary ban, and the player is still on theserver.
EXAMPLE: /jail _theHannahfied_ prison 1s
/mute
This prohibits a person from using chat.
This is mostly used to get a player to stop cussing, arguing, capping, or spamming. I believe it to be used as a warning that if the user does not stop, he or she will be banned.
EXAMPLE: /mute Cattyboy 10m
S E C T I O N III:
What Would You Do If...
This is what I would do if someone did something that is not covered in the questions.
ADVERTISING
I would first tell the person that advertising on ZeldaCraft is not allowed and that the user should advertise their server on the Advertising Forum. If the user does not stop, I will mute the person for 10 minutes and tell him or her to stop. I would then, if the user does not stop, mute the user for 20 minutes and tell the user that then next time he or she advertises is a ban.
IMMATURITY
Immaturity would be making "that's what she said" jokes, for example, or talking about s**. This is very low to me, and it shows that this person is not mature enough to chat on this server. I would first mute the person for 15 minutes after a warning. Next, I would mute the person for 20 minutes if the user continues. Then, I would ban the person for 1 hour after telling them why it is immature.
HACKING
Hacking is a very serious offense that really tells a lot about a moderator if he or she can handle the situation correctly. It is difficult to tell if someone is hacking while you are not there. I find it easier if it is handled on the forums. Firstly, I would ask the person to create a thread on the Ban Appeals Forum including evidence.
I would look at the evidence and decide myself if the person is hacking or not. I would also let the accused say his side of the story and plead innocent or guilty. When I get an answer from the other staff members and/or any eye witnesses and the accused, I will say my verdict, and I will either permanently ban the hacker (if guilty) or allow him to stay (if innocent). I would then close the thread. I would do the same thing if there was no evidence, but I would interrogate any eye witnesses and the accused and accuser further.
SPAMMING
Spamming is saying the same thing over and over again. This is usually used by advertisers. First, I would kick the person for spamming of course. Next, I would mute the spammer for 10, and if he or she does not stop, I will mute him or her for 15 minutes. Lastly, I would ban the person for 1 hour for spamming.
